An Antigen is a molecular structure for example on a cell surface of pathogens (bacteria or virus). The antigens most often consist of proteins and they cause a reaction of our immune system. The plasma cells (type of white blood cells) produce antibodies against antigens. Antibodies recognize the antibody and can destroy it. For every antigen the human body can produce a specialized antibody. The antibody-antigen reaction works with the Lock-and-Key Principle.

Small water living organisms (animals and plants: larvae of fish and invertebrates, protozoans, algae, bacteria) in oceans and in freshwater ecosystems which mainly drift (and less move actively) in the different zones of their aquatic habitats. Plankton is at the very beginning of every foodchain in oceans and freshwater environments.
