The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a scientific body which attempts to evaluate the risk of human caused climate change. The panel was established in 1988 by two organizations of the United Nations (the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environment Programme). In 2007, The IPCC received the Nobel Peace Prize together with the former Vice President of the United States Al Gore.
