Ribonucleic acid. Used in transcription of DNA and it is the primary genetic material in some viruses. RNA is a large molecule consisting of a single strand chain of ribonucleotide subunits with 4 bases, uracil (U), guanine (G), cytosine (C) and adenine (A). It is found in cell as transfer RNA, ribosomal RNA and messenger RNA.
